Unconventionally we have decided to include a background in our film poster as we did not it to appear too bland, and also because if it has a background you will be more inclined to keep looking back at the image to see if you have missed any detail. We decided to include a parody within our poster to emphasise the humour within our film. Our main characters are mimicking the classic memorial Titanic scene where Jack is drawing Rose naked, but our characters are fully dressed and instead of drawing April Buddy is drawing childing, boyish pictures of a dinasaur. The title of our film is going to be in red as red is usually associated with romance.

Film magazine research

Empire film magazines main focus is the picture of Iron Man, it's main colour focus is red, white and blue. The dark background brings out the focus of the picture and the titles. It has pictures of other films that will be in the magazine down the bottom.

Total Film magazine is a conventional which uses colour schemes on it's magazine covers. The colour scheme used on this particular cover is mainly white and red with a green background. The main focus of this magazine cover is Johnny Depp as his character 'Willy Wonker' in the film 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'. Our magazine cover is going to have a similar layer to these film covers.

Research on rom com film posters

'Date Movie' is a spoof rom com and also a parody of other films such as 'Napoleon Dynamite'. The red background and bold, black font used for the title breaks the conventions of most other rom com posters. The symbols such as 'unrated' and the pants on the A in 'Date' are symbols and shows that the film is going to have sexual connections.

Target audience and age rating
Our target audience is going to range between 15 and 35 as we feel these age groups will appreciate the film more than any other. Our film is not aimed at a particular gender as we feel that it is almost a 'spoof' rom com, the humour used will appeal to the men and the romantic parts will appeal to the women, therefore the film will be suitable for both men and women. By making it an American production we are aiming to attract both an American and British audience so there will be features included to appeal to both.
